With money and being available in your country completely no object.
Personally, I actually quite like the MG6 Magnette:
With the close second being the Euro VW Passat:

Legacy or Malibu.

Why the Malibu?

Not exactly midsize, but it makes up for that in the department of being fucking gorgeous.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:13 |

It technically is a midsize, though. Just Midsize luxury.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:14 |

I like GM cars, the 2.0T actually gets closer to advertised numbers unlike the Fusion, and the Malibu unlimited has a top speed of like ~150

Says a lot about the popularity of this car in the UK that a German owned, Czech company would release press photos of a RHD model.

To each their own i guess.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:17 |

Midsize as in luxury midsize or everything midsize?
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:17 |

Would a Chevy Volt count as a midsize? If so, that. If not, I'll have to think of something else.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:21 |

Maybe the Chrysler 200 or Passat TDI.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:24 |

Easy easy answer. Skoda Octavia vRS estate 2.0TSi 220ps, 6speed manual in metallic green with all the extras which takes a £24,905 (USD$37,449) car up to £30,245 (USD$45,479).
There is a tuning company called MTM that can tune the 2.0TSi up to 305hp if 220hp isn't enough.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:24 |

That is gorgeous.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:25 |

I think of it as more of a compact, as it's based on the Cruze/Verano/Astra platform.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:25 |

Everything midsize.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:25 |

I was gonna call you out for cheating but I just remembered the Octavia VRS in my pic is technically a hatchback. So objection withdrawn.

Accord Touring (what my dad has, pretty peppy for what it is), BMW 3 series, Cadillac CTS. That's really about it :/
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:34 |

The boring answer would be C63 (though probably not all that boring especially in AMG form), but I'd probably go with a used S60 R. Because Sweden. Or used Saab 9-5 because my first car was a 9-3 and despite the electrical problems was one of the nicest cars I've ever owned (including a loaded S80 2.9L). Very underrated leather interior with simple controls.

On a slightly related note, I want one of these
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:37 |

Oops sorry. Just noticed it says 'sedan' and not midsize car as I read.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:42 |
|
Ye', I didn't read 'sedan' when I first read it but five door hatch is close hence why I put the five door hatch myself below it in the same green.
They are beautiful cars.
Five door hatch or estate,
2.0 petrol or diesel,
manual or automatic.
That's pretty much all the bases covered.

someone in town got a grey 200s AWD, is very nice looking.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:45 |

They're such good cars. They are basically indestructible, more practical, better looking Golf GTIs.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:46 |

would be the best wagon ever created.

There are some nice colours.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:49 |

Well, you said cost is no object, so.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:51 |
|
So true. And much better thought out than VWs. Even the saloons got rear wipers and not just the hatchbacks which for driving safety is great. The front wipers even sit in different positions after so many cycles to protect the wiper motors and wiper blades for goodness sakes. Who else ever thought of that?
![]() 03/07/2015 at 21:53 |
|
Well, I guess it is technically a midsize.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 22:00 |

The 200S is great looking, I agree there.

That's the facelift to the current Mondeo estate isn't it?
![]() 03/07/2015 at 22:06 |

MANUEL!
![]() 03/07/2015 at 22:18 |

Sure looks like it, but with ST bits added on ofc
![]() 03/07/2015 at 22:43 |

A facelift didn't come out yet for our Ford Fusion (Mondeo) in the States.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 22:51 |

unfortunately not "For Canada". No Mondeo / Fusion estate on this side of the Atlantic. For 2015, no manual gearbox either
![]() 03/07/2015 at 22:59 |

I've just looked at the 'future Ford' info and looks like the current Mondeo (Fusion) from 2014 is the all new one only the blue one has ST styling cues.
Only the Ford C-Max and Grand C-Max along with the S-Max are showing for release this year sometime.
The concept Vignale looks good though.

Chevrolet Impala
![]() 03/07/2015 at 23:12 |

The Impala is actually a fullsize.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 23:12 |
|
Ouch, that sucks balls.
![]() 03/07/2015 at 23:37 |

Makes sense. Sort of. Of course it'd make more sense if instead of measuring based on interior volume, they measured based on entire vehicle length.

nothing , nothing interests me at present.

Is the Model S mid-size or full-size? I've heard it compares with 5- and 7-series on interior space, but can seat 6 with the rear facing seats. Too zones out to research it (stupid time change...)
In no particular order, if the S doesn't qualify:
Volvo S60, maybe the XC, with all the options, Rebel Blue with tan interior, with the Polestar tune.
Mazda6 Grand Touring.
Jaguar XF-R, or if too large, the XE when it's available.
BMW M3. Side note/rant: the 4-door sedan should be called the M4 if BMW just had to rename their models.
Ford Falcon FPV top-of-the-line max-performance model. If that's too big, then a Fusion with a SHO powertrain. Wait, no, MKZ, not Fusion. And somehow cram a Coyote 5.0 in there, maybe.
Infiniti G37 or Q50 Eau Rouge (if they made it, I haven't been paying attention to it)
Lexus GS, but with the non-predator front fascia from prior years.
AMG Mercedes, C or E class, whichever is "midsize".
I think that's about it, unless I can request a custom-made McLaren 5-door notch-back (like the first-gen Mazda 6 offered, rear glass lifts with trunk lid) with the P1's engine.
Of all of the above, if it were my own money, and had to be road-legal across the entire country, , I would pick the Mazda6 Grand Touring with the iE-LOOP system. Blue with a tan interior.

If money is no object, why settle for the Skoda when you could have the Audi/VW version instead?
![]() 03/08/2015 at 15:43 |
|
Overall volume and size are very close to the crude/verano.
![]() 03/08/2015 at 15:49 |
|
The Genesis is longer than an Avalon, Taurus/MKS, etch, and I think even the 5-series and E-class. The Sonata is midsize, though.
![]() 03/08/2015 at 15:50 |
|
Yes, but it is still qualified as a midsize car.
![]() 03/08/2015 at 16:12 |
|
Interesting, I do actually see it referred to as "midsize"; I could have sworn it was a full-size or an in-between size. If course, typical "midsize" cars are the size of full size cars of yore, just as compact cars are about the size or bigger than old midsizers.
![]() 03/08/2015 at 16:19 |

The Equus is full size.
![]() 03/08/2015 at 16:30 |

Because the Skoda is better. You don't settle for a Skoda, you make a choice.
Of the VW family that share the MQB platform Audi A3 Mk3, Seat Leon Mk3, VW Golf Mk7, Skoda Octavia Mk3, Audi TT Mk3, VW Passat B8 Mk8 and Skoda Superb Mk3. I think Skoda are the best thought out and the right balance of performance and comfort and the only reason I didn't pick the Superb was I don't see it as a midsize vehicle though as has been pointed out neither the Octavia or the Superb are saloons (sedans) as both are only available in five door hatch and five door estate.
Other than a Scirocco R there is no other VW or Audi I have any interest in.
A guy in Aus has one exactly how I'd want it looking though.
I honestly would go and will be going for the Skoda Superb Mk3 next year by which time I would of had the great pleasure of having the Skoda Superb Mk2 for three years.
Current
Next year (but in estate form)
